Judging by the seller's "other items", it wouldn't surprise me if some people have seen a nice little business opportunity and are pillaging the libraries of congregations which are being "merged" or "consolidated."

@ gorbatchov - If the TV does not have a fault, there is definitely no returning it if it has been plugged in and set up, because it is classed as second-hand and is now un-sellable by Argos. (according to the manager)
The huge 30-day return poster in-store specifically states that not all items are included if you change your mind.
I've learned a lesson or two.

The overall quality - or lack of it - does not justify a demand for a refund according to Argos.
If it it doesn't have a verifiable fault, hard cheese! It does explain why they do not put them on display, alongside decent quality T.V.'s.
Morpheus - Maybe the org could snap them up for the LDC.

The point being made is that the European J.W. elder was disturbed at the thought of the WTBTS being involved in stocks and shares, because his Watchtower said no such thing.

Totally wrong Darkspilver - check the wording on your website link and read what it actually says:
Can I return it if there’s nothing wrong with it?
Absolutely! We offer a 30 day returns guarantee on most items. (We’re nice like that.)
So if you need to bring it back, just bring it back. Then we’ll either refund the cash onto the original payment method or offer you an exchange. Easy.
You just need these 2 things:
- your proof of purchase
- the item should be unused, in its original packaging and in a resell-able condition. TV.'s are not included in their returns offer if it has been used.
They will not accept such an item back if it has been plugged in, switched on, and set up - unless it's faulty. They then class it as second-hand goods. Fact! If you're in the UK, ring 0345 1657538 and select Option 2 to hear how their weasel-words inform you that not all items are returnable.
Go and buy a TV from Argos, set it up, and then take it back because "you've changed your mind." It'll be interesting to hear your experience. Argos is not the Argos you think it is.

I don't know if this topic has ever been covered, but I heard that an elder in a European country rejected a J.W.'s claim that the org asks for stocks & shares in their version (English) of the WT each year. The elder was appalled at the idea (stock market gambling etc.) and said that such a request had never appeared in his version of the WT.
Every November, the org issues this type of statement in the English version of the Watchtower: "Stocks and Bonds: Stocks and bonds may be donated to Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society of Pennsylvania as an outright gift or Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society of Pennsylvania may be named as a Transfer on Death beneficiary."
Can anyone confirm that this statement does not appear in WT's in some/all other European languages? I thought 8m JW's got the same info in the same WT's?

I have never reviewed a product before, but having purchased a Hitachi 50 inch Full HD LCD TV at the weekend, I thought I'd share my experience.
Hitachi TV's are now made in Turkey, and not by the Hitachi company. The UK's sole supplier is the Argos company. Alarm bells should have rung in my head when I walked into the store and saw the various makes of beautiful looking TV's on display - but not a Hitachi to be seen anywhere.
Having paid for the TV and declined the "exhortation" to pay extra for damage protection, I took the thing home and set it up. Picture quality and colours were not good, but the speaker quality was on a different level - it was dire! I've never heard such terrible audio on a TV in my life.

18 'plane tickets - "thanks to Jehovah's undeserved kindness." (oh, forgot to include - cell 'phone calls, unpaid workers at the HQ Travel desk, the internet, and smart 'phone capability to receive 'plane tickets) God really works in mysterious ways. Even many active J.W's are going to be cringing at this propaganda, and the photo of the eighteen grinning parasitic charlatans at the airport will just make them nauseous.

Critical times, hard to deal with!

's who called on him, parroted out the org's message of doom from 2 timothy 3:1-5 to remind him how bad the world is and that it showed that we are living in the last days.. a former elder/p.o.
once told me that he hated it every time the wtbts falsely applied these verses to the 20-21st century.
